Bali remains one of the world’s most consistently compelling travel destinations. Millions of visitors arrive each year for the culture, the coastline, the food, and the unmistakable pace of island life. But the practicalities of getting there have changed meaningfully in recent years, and arriving unprepared can turn what should be a seamless airport check-in into an avoidable delay at immigration.
This guide covers everything currently required to enter Bali in 2026: visa options, the mandatory digital arrival form, the tourism levy, and the automated immigration gates.
Disclaimer: Entry requirements can change at short notice. Always confirm the latest rules through official Indonesian government sources before you travel.
Visa requirements
The first thing to determine before booking is which visa category applies to your nationality. Most international visitors will use a Visa on Arrival or the online equivalent. A smaller group qualifies for visa-free entry.
Passport holders from the following 13 countries and territories do not require a visa for tourist stays of up to 30 days. This exemption cannot be extended.
- Cambodia
- Malaysia
- Singapore
- Philippines
- Thailand
- Brunei Darussalam
- Lao PDR
- Vietnam
- Colombia
- Suriname
- Hong Kong SAR
- Myanmar
- Timor Leste
If your country is not on the visa-exempt list, you are most likely eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA) or its online equivalent, the e-VOA. Indonesia extends this option to citizens of 97 countries, including the UK, US, Australia, most of Europe, and many others.
The VOA and e-VOA allow a 30-day stay, extendable once for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office or online through the official portal.
The cost is IDR 500,000 per person (approximately USD 28). Applying online via evisa.imigrasi.go.id at least 48 hours before departure also qualifies you for the automated immigration gates on arrival.
Tourism levy
Another Bali entry requirement is the tourism levy. Introduced in February 2024, this tourist tax costs Rp.150,000, or the equivalent of around US$9.
This fee contributes to the preservation of the island’s natural environments and tourist spots. You can pay before you leave for your trip via the Love Bali website or app. The levy can also be paid upon arrival at designated counters at the airport and seaport.
The all Indonesia digital arrival form
As of September 2025, Indonesia requires all international travellers to complete the All Indonesia digital arrival form before landing. This applies regardless of nationality, visa type, or age.
This unified form consolidates all previously separate submissions into one process, including the Electronic Customs Declaration (e-CD) and the SATUSEHAT Health Pass. You no longer need to fill each one separately.
Here’s what you need to know:
- The All Indonesia form includes immigration, customs, and health information in one submission.
You can fill it out via the ‘All Indonesia’ app (iOS/Android) or through the official allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id website. - It must be completed within 3 days (72 hours) before your arrival in Bali to avoid delays.
- Once submitted, you’ll receive a QR code by email or in the app, which must be shown to customs and immigration officers when you land.
- This form is mandatory for entry into Bali, even for visa-exempt travellers and those with a valid visa.
Autogate entry
For a more seamless arrival experience, the Bali airport has installed automated gates in the international terminal.
To use the autogates, you must hold an electronic passport (identifiable by the chip symbol on the cover), be 6 years of age or older, and hold one of the following: an approved e-VOA, a pre-approved e-Visa, or a Visa Exemption Arrangement (VEA) status with your passport pre-registered online through the immigration portal.
Once you have cleared immigration and made your way out of Ngurah Rai, the island awaits. Completing the All Indonesia form, the tourism levy payment, and the e-VOA in a single session before your flight takes around fifteen minutes and removes almost every possible delay at the airport.

Enforcement details remain unclear at the time of writing. Carrying documentation of financial means is a sensible precaution regardless.
